Garter snakes

Habitat

Garter snakes can live in forests, prairies, streams, wetlands, ponds, and marshes. Garter snakes live mostly throughout all of Canada and the US.

diet

Garter snakes will eat many different things from leeches, to lizards, earthworms, and amphibians, rodents, and even minnows. A lot of times they live near water so they will sometimes eat other aquatic creatures.

Garter snakes range from 23 to 30 inches long and sometimes even longer. Garter snakes can have from 20 to 40 babies at a time. Garter snakes are diurnal which means they are awake during the day and sleeping at night.
